Members of the Middletown Police Department are saddened by the off duty death of Officer Thomas Cabral. Officer Cabral, 28, has been a Middletown Police Officer for just over 3 years. Officer Cabral died unexpectedly of natural causes on the early morning hours of Sunday, December 28th.

Officer Cabral is the son of retired detective Thomas Cabral, a 30 year veteran of the Fall River, MA Police Department and the grandson of the late detective Mac Cabral who also served with the Fall River Police Department.

Funeral services will take place at the Waring Sullivan Funeral Home, 178 Winter Street, Fall River, MA. The arrangements area as follows: Sunday, January 4th, wake from 4pm to 8pm, with a walk through being conducted at 6pm. Police Departments wishing to participate in the walk through are asked to report to Ruggle's Park (Pine Street Side) no later than 5:30pm for the 6:00p, walkthrough. Click here for directions.

The funeral will take place on Monday the 5th beginning with mass at 10am at St. Theresa's church in Tiverton, RI. More details pertaining to Monday's service will be outlined in following messages.

If your agency wishes to participate we would greatly appreciate as much advance notice as possible regarding your agency's attendance so that we can ensure that the appropriate preparations are made to accommodate you.
