Yard Waste

Yard waste will be picked up on a seasonal schedule, every week in April and November and every other week May through October, there will be a Christmas tree collection the 1st week of January.
There several options for placing yard waste on the curb:

  1. You may use the brown paper bags that are sold in hardware stores for this purpose.
  2. You may use a regular 30-gallon trash barrel with a yard waste label on the side (Free yard waste stickers available at the Department of Public Works).
  3. For brush that can't fit in the trash cans, or if you simply prefer, the brush may be tied in bundles 4 feet long or less and the branches should not have a diameter more than 2".  Of course the bundles have to be light enough to be easily lifted by a person since this will be manually collected.
There is no pre set limit to the amount of yard waste to put out on any given day although it should be kept to a reasonable amount.
