GAUDET LEARNING ACADEMY FOURTH GRADER ARCHER SMITH

MIDDLETOWN, R.I. (DECEMBER 9, 2022) – In each of the schools across Middletown, there are students doing excellent, noteworthy things. As part of a feature from the town, a different student will be spotlighted for their efforts to make Middletown a special place to  live, work and play.

Person I’d Like To Meet: Boston Bruins forward David Pastrnak because he’s Archer’s favorite hockey player. Archer also plays hockey like No. 88 for the Newport Whalers.

Top Show Or Movie: “Angels In The Outfield”

Best Local Hangout: The beach during the summer, where he can relax and surf with his mother.

Music With The Most: Country music, particularly anything by Sam Hunt.

Recommended Reading: “Hoot” by Carl Hiaasen.

Best Subject In School: Math and science because Archer’s mom is an engineer and he’s always been good at math.

Teacher/Staff Member I’d Like To Thank: “Archer would like to thank Ms. (Laurie) Oliveira and Ms. (Christina) McFadden for being great teachers.  He would like to thank Ms. Oliveira because she is a really nice teacher and she helps him with things and Ms. McFadden because he has know her since when he was in first grade.”

Comment From Teacher/Staff Member: “Archer is a respectful student who is kind to all his classmates. He does a great job listening, following directions and working hard. Archer shows a real desire to learn and do well in school,” Oliveira said.
