Matt Sheley here, the Town's Public Affairs Officer. Over the past couple months, there's been quite a bit of conversation about Linden Park at 141 West Main Road. Currently, two separate ideas are being considered for the property, a new community park featuring four pickleball courts. The Town's Affordable Housing Committee is also looking at bringing affordable housing to the property. What do you think? What should happen with the valuable property? Write your input below to get in on the conversation.

I don't understand why we need a sidewalk on Purgatory Rd. As I look around Middletown where we have sidewalks, I see that they are not maintained, they are unattractive, and they are not environmentally friendly. They also contribute to excess water runoff. Also to think of removing any trees in a town noted for it's efforts to promote trees is unconscionable. Have there been pedestrian accidents
on this road that I am unaware of? I do see pedestrians walking on the grass, but not enough to even make a path in the grass, Couldn't there be a better way to use the federal money planned for this sidewalk use?

Hi!
Matt Sheley here again, the town's Public Affairs Officer.
Middletown is expected to receive close to $5 million in American Rescue Plan Act money.
The Town wants to hear what you think the federal funding should be used for, whether it’s public health, infrastructure, economic relief or other options.
Local leaders have said they’d like to do something special with the money, something that has a lasting impact on the community rather than a stopgap measure.
The deadline to submit ideas and suggestions is Dec. 17. The Town Council is expected to decide on the Town’s priority list in late February 2022.
We welcome any and all ideas. Think creatively and help make Middletown an even better place to live, work and play.

There are going to need be controls in place to keep the "Common Green Space" from becoming a public dog toilet. Simply putting up signs and providing bags and receptacles is not going to be sufficient. Case in point, the Paradise Valley Park. The nearby apartment dwellers have no place to toilet their dogs, so this area of green is going to be their go-to spot.
